HONORING OUR PLANET

Guided by preserving our beautiful home in Palm Springs, we’re always working to integrate environmentally conscious practices across our historic estate — inspiring a more sustainable future through our daily choices.

Less is More

We work to keep waste, water, and electricity usage to a minimum, and we’ve implemented a range of environmental design strategies that keep our environmental footprint small for the long term.

Meaningful Connection

Our community is everything: we’re committed to supporting our neighbors in Palm Springs through volunteering, donating, and partnering with organizations like the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, the Desert AIDS Project, and a mentorship with La Quinta High School’s culinary program.

Rest Easy

Sustainability and wellbeing are interconnected; we place human health and wellness at the center of our experience, consciously integrating air and water filtration systems throughout our property to ensure our guests’ comfort and care.

Be Part of the Change

Daily choices add up to impactful change: we hope to inspire mindful consumption by inviting our guests to be part of these efforts, whether through minimizing water use with reduced laundry services or opting out of single-use plastic.

Savoring Seasonality

Whether it’s dinner at Melvyn’s or a poolside aperitif, we curate our menus with the highest standards for thoughtfully-sourced and seasonal ingredients, guided by our own soulful twist on fine dining — supporting Desert Valley farmers and local ingredients, sometimes from our own backyard (your cocktail with a twist comes from citrus grown right here).

Giving Back

Supporting the communities around us is central to our mission. Through our Proper Giving foundation, we’re dedicated to donating 1 percent of time, hotel space, and management fees from every Proper Hospitality property to local, cause-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofits.

Ingleside Estate is committed to conservation-minded hospitality—from landscaping with native plants to efficient energy use, water-saving initiatives, and the careful reuse of furnishings and historic architectural elements.

Do you support local environmental or community programs?

Yes. We prioritize partnerships with local charities and organizations that focus on desert preservation, social equity, and education. Guests are encouraged to inquire about opportunities to get involved or learn more during their stay. Explore our vision on the About page.

How does the estate reduce waste and single-use plastics?

We minimize single-use plastics through refillable bath amenities, biodegradable materials, and composting systems. Common areas and guest rooms emphasize reusable service ware and sustainable supplies across the property.

Are the gardens and grounds designed with conservation in mind?

Absolutely. Our gardens are planted with native and drought-tolerant species to reduce water consumption and support local biodiversity. Courtyard pathways and lounging areas are designed to complement our natural desert setting while conserving resources.

How can guests participate in sustainability during their stay?

Guests can support our environmental initiatives by reusing towels and linens, disposing of recyclables properly, and requesting housekeeping on their schedule. Additional options—such as complementary water bottles in place of single-use—are available upon request via Guest Services.

Is water conservation addressed on the property?

Yes. Ingleside Estate uses low-flow showerheads and toilets, efficient irrigation systems, and encourages mindful water use. These features are thoughtfully integrated without compromising guest comfort or aesthetics.

How does Ingleside blend sustainability with luxury?

We aim to offer elevated experiences—like on-site herbal teas, organic bedding, and curated wellness kits—while remaining environmentally considerate. These amenities reflect our ethos of experiential living grounded in resource awareness.
